Labor welcomes today’s decision by the Defence Honours and Awards Appeal Tribunal on the Battle of Long Tan bravery awards.
There has been a long standing push to have a number of veterans recognised for their bravery during the Battle of Long Tan. Retired Lieutenant Colonel Harry Smith has been the driving force to recognise Australian soldiers who fought at the Battle of Long Tan for various gallantry awards.
