And we will get to the Labor Party, and party democracy in a moment because there have been questions about that too and various proposals made, but first of all this suggestion of a four year parliamentary term- at least for the House of Representatives- now, while there is a greater chance of success if the major parties are both onside and the Prime Minister and Opposition Leader are both on the same side, there is no guarantee, is there given the history of referendums in Australia than it would still pass muster at a referendum given what we have seen in the past.
