It has now been three months since the Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade handed down its report into the ‘Use of the Quinoline anti-malarial drugs Mefloquine and Tafenoquine in the Australian Defence Force’ and the government is still yet to respond.
Labor established this Inquiry after members of the serving and ex-service community continued to raise their concerns around the side effects from some anti-malarial drugs which were taken during their service.
