Today we pause to remember the 75th Anniversary of the Bombing of Darwin- the largest single attack ever mounted by a foreign power on Australian soil.
The first of its kind, which saw air raids by 260 Japanese enemy forces attack Darwin’s harbour and port throughout the day, killing more than 252 allied service personnel and civilians including wharf labourers, postmen, nurses and local Aboriginal people.
